Melodia The group that emerged in October 2004 has been
growing increasingly
expanding their work in
quantity and quality. Master Manel and their teachers are
playing a great job in the community of Rocinha area
and a
branch in Brazil and now in Norway as well. The group
also offers capoeira classes, and it entertains the youth
from school to
tutoring,
foreign language, theater, drumming
lessons, traditional dances and cultural tours. The group's
goal is
to show that young people born in poor communities may
also have a decent life, and with perseverance we can aim
our
dreams. With 29 years of art, the master Manel heads the
group of approximately
200 children from 03 to 17 years and adults from 18 onwards,
and has the support of 10 instructors, students who are
older and who have traveled to countries like China and
Angola,
making presentations.
